The Mikee Jones Memorial Scholarship

Presents:

Victor Harewood

Loyola New Orleans Senior

Victor Osym Harewood, III, is a rising senior in the Music Industry Studies program at Loyola. He is from Los Angeles, CA, and like Mikee, has an interest in composing music as well as digital filmmaking. In fact, one of class projects this spring was in Jim Gabour's class, where he basically created a music video for his own music. It is very appropriate that Victor is the first recipient of this scholarship. Victor is inventive, brilliant, and gets along well with others.

LETTER FROM VICTOR:

Dear Mrs. Jones,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous $1000 Mikee Jones scholarship. I am not only appreciative, but honored to be the first recipient of a scholarship that recognizes your son’s legacy.

As a Music Industry Studies senior at Loyola University New Orleans, I am heavily driven in the
fields of music production, film, and photography. About four years ago, I began at Loyola in hopes of monetizing my passion for art through the creation of an entertainment enterprise that catered to the needs of independent artists. Thanks to you, I have recently launched the first leg of this enterprise in the form of my music production company.

By awarding me with the Mikee Jones scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden, allowing me to focus more on achieving my goals. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day to be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have aided me with mine. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Victor Harewood
