Background on Scholarship

Mikee, who passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2009, earned a degree in Music Industry Studies in 2008, at Loyola University New Orleans, where he grew to love the people, the city, and the University. He left a legacy larger than his 23 years in this world, giving freely of his time, energy, talents, and resources to his friends, family, and the community at large.

Scholarship Purpose

The Mikee Jones Music Scholarship will assist rising junior and senior music department students with the cost of tuition, books, musical instruments, equipment and supplies to help these up and coming musicians, music entrepreneurs, and music business leaders realize their dreams of making music careers and music-related ventures become reality through their education at Loyola.

As of February 27, 2013, more than $52,050.62 has been raised towards the overall goal of $75,000 in order to create the scholarship endowment at Loyola University New Orleans.
